PLASMASOUND - Photo Cell Oscillator Theremin by DeMenTia laBs Added to BTM's Zonkulator Rig

While looking for some more vintage signal generators and the like for my Bill T Miller ZONKULATOR Laboratory Rig, I found this photo cell oscillator theremin unit built by the amazing Ross of DeMenTia laBs out of Indiana. It is a real cool fantasy faux simulated signal generator (with a decal instead of an actual rehoused metal faceplate) that he made from scratch. When I saw it on Ebay, I knew it would fit right in with my ZONKULATOR RIG.

At some point I will whip up my own mega BTM ZONKULATOR meets ORGY OF NOISE video with the Plasmasound and record some audio with this new gizmo. Currently working editing already existing footage into a full length ZONKULATOR BTM DVD and plan to shoot and add some sights & sounds from this unit to the fun. Stay tuned...

UPDATE: Just back from MIT FLEA... resisted urge to buy more vintage oscillators (like in the photo above.) I WANT more for my ZONKULATOR Laboratory, but since the rig is in storage anyway, I figured I don't really NEED more.

* Plus I shot a 360 panoramic of the MIT FLEA GARAGE ROOFTOP...

SEE YA THIS SUNDAY in the NIGHTTIME for GUITAR WOLF in CONCERT

Japanese garage punk band GUITAR WOLF blasting into The Church of Boston rock club for a big show this Sunday.

I LUV the jet rock 'n' roll" zombie horror comedy cult classic film/dvd WILD ZERO starring GUITAR WOLF called WILD ZERO.

+ SUNDAY TV TIME with BOB's BURGERS and GAME OF THRONES... too much entertainment to consume for one Sunday. Not to mention the DVD of Brian Depalma's BLOW OUT is on deck as well. Gotta get back to the endless piles of my own audio/video projects I have in progress....

UPDATE: GUITAR WOLF was pure JET ROCK-N-ROLL!!!!

FLASHBACK: LED ZEPPELIN II Tour on APRIL 7 1970 - Charlotte, NC

Flashing back to when I saw LED ZEPPELIN II Tour on APRIL 7 1970. I remember Robert saying here's a song from our next album and then launching into Since I've Been Loving You.

I remember hearing that Whole Lotta Love guitar solo / theremin breakdown and being hooked on Zep. The theremin sounded like sirens on the record, eventually I figured out that it was the same thing I had heard on sci-fi tv/movies and Beach Boys (Good Vibrations.) Nobody rocks the snake voodoo theremin dance quite like Page.

SEE 8mm fan footage featuring Led Zeppelin performing in Charlotte, North Carolina, April 7, 1970.

Setlist:
We're Gonna Groove, Dazed and Confused, Heartbreaker, Bring It On Home, White Summer / Black Mountainside, Since I've Been Loving You, Organ solo / Thank You, What Is and What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love.

In 1976, my younger brother Greg scored his own LES PAUL similar to the one Jimmy Page was playing in '70. Here's a snapshot of me playing Greg's guitar in early 80s.

I was 13 and my Dad drove me and two "older" girls (Bess & Sarah) who were in the next grade up to the concert in his 60s red Renault Dauphine Gordini Car.

Only saw ZEP that one time in 1970, although I did see various solo combos like Page (Outrider, Firm, Black Crowes) & Plant solo & Page/Plant & John Paul Jones solo twice and actually met JONESY at Paradise club in Boston after he played with Mutual Admiration Society. A friend was ex-soundman for JPJ solo, he had a private VIP sit down after the show.
