ARP ODYSSEY SESSIONS 1976 = Bill T Miller
Musician Producer Engineer, BILL T MILLER's earliest surviving recordings as an ARTIST. Recorded in 1976 at BTM's Bungalow Bill Recording Studio in North Hollywood, California on a white-face ARP ODYSSEY into a REVOX A-77 Tape Recorder bouncing the tracks sound on sound overdub style.
* stream or download free audio: http://billtmiller.bandcamp.com
* also available on limited edition CASSETTE.
Originally released on CASSETTE on BTM's label Moon Records in late 1976, shortly after graduating from College for the Recording Arts in San Francisco and moving to LA. Re-released 38 years later on Autumnal Equinox 2014. This recording is actually four different songs, all on ARP ODYSSEY. These electronic music excursions from 1976 give you a glimpse of future BTM experimental rock bands like: OBE & ORGY OF NOISE & ZONKULATOR. Starting his own garage band (later dubbed The Racquet Band) with tennis rackets for guitars in late 1965, jamming along with records and then getting a real guitar in late '67 and cranking up THE ELECTRIC ONION before focusing on recording engineering and production in mid-70s. This five minute tape of ARP SYNTH experiments is ONLY AUDIO existing of early BTM !!!!!!!!!

My flashback to seeing URIAH HEEP & BUDDY MILES & DEEP PURPLE in 1972 in NC.
January 16, 1972... DEEP PURPLE & BUDDY MILES & URIAH HEEP at Cumberland County Memorial Arena, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
So, I received a request email from Konstantinos Takos, who is a super URIAH HEEP fan and adminstrator - archivist - researcher of giglists at: (official band page) uriah-heep.com - He got in touch after reading on this blog about how I saw URIAH HEEP in 1972 asked if I had any memories of the show.
Flashing back to 1972, I was 15 years old, living in North Carolina. I was a big fan of Deep Purple after hearing their Fireball and In Rock albums. I course loved Jimi Hendrix's "Band Of Gypsys" (1970 album) with the drumming & vocals of Buddy Miles and his tune Them Changes, so I was already ready to buy a ticket (at 5 or 6 dollars) to see the show. The real bonus treat was URIAH HEEP. They were the perfect band to play on the tour with Deep Purple (who were about to release "Machine Head" LP.) The bands shared a common essence of sonics, but each had their own trip. Heep's "Look at Yourself" had come out a few months earlier (September 1971) and my friend Vernon, who is an avid record collector and had turned me onto Deep Purple and he played his copy of Heep's "Look at Yourself" album for me, I had to have my own copy. Plus, I really dug that MIRROR cover design. We went to the show together (with friends) - traveling 45 miles from Laurinburg, NC to Fayetteville, NC.
I remember Heep opened the show and was top notch. At that point, I had only heard "Look At Yourself" album, so I didn't any real expectactions. I remember the band was tight and MICK BOX was nailing it on guitar. As I am writing this flashback it is about 42 years ago, so frankly I don't remember a ton of details... except that I LUVED HEEP. After seeing Heep LIVE in concert, I almost immediately, got "Salisbury" and debut "...Very 'Eavy ...Very 'Umble" albums and by summer the new "Demons & Wizards" release. Next up that night was the Band Of Gypsys drummer, the legendary BUDDY MILES who delivered a solid fatback funk rock set. He did Them Changes and it was even more funked out than Hendrix version.
Then headliners DEEP PURPLE Mark 2 with now classic line-up of Ritchie Blackmore & Jon Lord & Ian Paice & Ian Gillan & Roger Glover blasted through their set. I knew the songs on several of their studio albums, but it was even better live. I'm so glad I got to witness that line-up.
It appears the Heep/Miles/Purple US 1972 US tour started with two shows in Florida and then one in South Carolina and the one I saw in NC was the 4th gig in that Tour. more info on cities played on that tour via the excellent Uriah Heep gig archive at: http://www.uriah-heep.com/newa/gigs1972c.php (direct link to Heep 1972 gigs.)
Anyway, that's my flashback memories of that killer show.

BENT 2004 - Circuit Bending Festival's 10th Anniversary - Apri 9th, 2004 with Bill T Miller's Orgy Of Noise.
- BENT - April 9th, 2014 is the 10th anniversary of BENT 2004 circuit bending festival weekend in NYC @ The Tank. I did the very first opening welcome mini-set to kick it off and later did a full on solo BTM ORGY OF NOISE set... joining in with me were Thomas Uliasz on bent gtr & Peter Edwards bent french speak & Benjamin Miller bent animal train. The legendary father of circuit-bending, Reed Ghazala declined to join in to jam, but did grab a front row seat for my show and was generous with his time and knowledge throughout the festival. Sheri Hausey & Jon Strymish & Derek Sajbel were on hand shooting photos & video and in the audience were future OON collaborators, Reg Bloor & Glenn Branca. The festival was a virtual who's who of the state of BENT circa 2004. Much respect and THANX to all who were there.

Axemunkee and Tsumani of Sound
Right after jamming NOISE NIGHT at Artisan's Asylum, we went to see Axemunkee & Tsumami of Sound down the street at Sally O'Briens.
AXEMUNKEE at Sally O'Briens in Somerville/Boston. Guitarist Cathy Capozzi and band always deliver. Over the years I have been lucky enough to do remixes of Axemunkee and also have members join in for my Orgy Of Noise band gigs. Axemunkee.com & http://billtmiller.com/axemunkee
TSUNAMI OF SOUND (with Cameo Girls Cha Cha and Michelle) at Sally O'Briens in Sommerville/Boston. First time seeing ToS and thought the band was super solid. Great drumming and gtr/bass picking and groovy go go dancers. Their covers of The Munsters & Hawaii Five-O TV themes and their ToS originals were killer. tsunamiofsound.com
