VUVUZELA Horns REMIX Circuit Bent Megaphone = ORGY OF NOISE by BILL T MILLER

Vuvuzela World Cup Horn mimics a swarm of bees and has been blown non-stop at World Cup 2010 matches. Bill T Miller blows his circuit bent MEGAPHONE that mimics a swarm of electrofried insects into an ORGY OF NOISE. Both VUVUZELA and the BENT MEGAPHONE are so deliciously annoying that they had to be morphed into this jiffy BTM REMIX delight.

The fun luving genius goofball maniacs programmers at YouTube added a button in the shape of a football/soccer ball that turns on the vuvuzela horns that begged for a jiffy BTM REMIX with the original 2008 video "Circuit Bent Warped Megaphone Orgy Of Noise."
Orig video is Bill T Miller of Orgy Of Noise broadcasting on BTMTELEVISION.com with a circuit bent warpspeak megaphone that was bent by Waterhed.

RINGO STARR CONCERT in BOSTON June 29th !

RINGO is my favorite MOCKER. Plus he is the DRUMMER for the first record I ever scored (I Want To Hold Your Hand 45) when I was young lad back in 1964. I tried in vain to get my Dad to take me to Shea Stadium in NYC to see The Beatles in 1966. I finally saw Ringo when he popped up for the encore at The Band's Last Waltz concert at Winterland in San Francisco - Thanksgiving 1976.

Ringo Starr 11th All Starr Band features Edgar Winter (younger brother of Johnny Winter), Gary Wright (Spooky Tooth), Richard Page (Mr. Mister), Wally Palmar (The Romantics), Rick Derringer (The McCoys) and Gregg Bissonette (touring & session drummer for: Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, ELO, Joe Satriani, Santana, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, etc.)

6/29/2010 @ BOA Pavilion - Boston, MA

Fans can expect to hear a jukebox worth of classics including Ringo’s “It Don’t Come Easy”, “Photograph”, “Little Help From My Friends”, “Yellow Submarine,” “Octopus’s Garden” as well as selections from his latest release Y NOT (Hip-O/Ume). Ringo will alternate with hits from the All Starr’s including: “Free Ride,” “Frankenstein,” “Broken Wings,” “Kyrie,” “Hang on Sloopy,” “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,” “Dreamweaver,” “Talking In Your Sleep,” and “What I Like About You.”

Over the years I have seen some of his bandmates... Edgar Winter (and Johnny), Rich Derringer, The Romantics, Gary Wright (Dreamweaver tour with Peter Frampton & Fleetwood Mac.)

Peace & Love & Happy 70th Birthday RINGO (July 7th)

RingoStarr.com

This was my first drum kit. I put it together 1966 and banged in a my RACQUET BAND until 1968 when I got a real snare drum (Rogers red sparkles) and put together THE ELECTRIC ONION. Although I played played drums on the side in both bands, i tended to adopt a morph of the John Paul George role and had my brother Greg on drums (pictured above in Racquet Band) and later in The Electric Onion he was special guest on guitar/vocals, so I had Clifton (below) on drums.

Although RINGO is my first favorite drummer, my earliest actually drum lust was when I heard Joe Morello's drum solo on The Dave Brubeck Quartet album Time Out in early 60s. Then in 1990, I formed DRUM ARMY, where I get to play tons of drums with some of the best players around.

Check out this DRUMS! More Drums & Percussion YouTube Playlist that I put together. Are there any other must see drum videos that I should add to my playlist?

= NON-STOP FUN = Triple Play Gemini Friday Adventures... AND AND AND !

see pix & video of BTM in HEADROOM here !

* Since the Orgy Of Noise at Multimedia Circus gig in Spring 2009, I have been in a semi-reclusive STUDIO zone, mostly editing video, mixing audio and tweaking other assorted projects chronicled here in this blog. Got quite distracted working on this BTM soundtrack/film dream vision excursion which is still in progress... I have piles of audio, video, photos from various projects (tracks from as far back as 1976) stashed in my vaults and not enough time or money to sort them out.

.... AND did the four advance screenings of the ORGY OF NOISE - Tricks & Treats DVD around HALLOWEEN 2009. They were deluxe cast and crew and audience events (that included jam outs after the screenings) here at Headroom for the DVD's limited preview release. Look for that DVD to be fully released "WIDE" (as they say in biz jargon) around Halloween 2010.

see ORGY OF NOISE pix & video here !

So anyway, over the last year or so, except for a couple Mission Of Burma gigs and a Robyn Hitchcock (solo) Jonathan Demme (workshop) Neil Young (concert film debut) at the Coolidge and a trip to the MIT FLEA I haven't been out of the studio that much.

AND yeah, so JUNE.... this past FRIDAY (June 4th) all of a sudden there FOUR different happenings in one night. All by people who I am friends/collaborators/fans of and that I am very loyal to. They have shown their loyalty to me by being for me as well. Too much to choose from... Karen Langlie (Wisteriax) was playing her CELLO way up in Lowell and Jason (of Neptune) having a birthday party in Cambridge, guitarist Cathy Capozzi (Axemunkee) playing her own birthday bash show (also in Cambridge) and Deftly-D and crew were putting on a multimedia show called ORDNANCE in Everett. So with a bit of planning it timed out that I could catch 3 of the 4 by doing an hour or two at each. Crazy, but doable.

see NEPTUNE pix & video here !

JASON SANFORD, the mastermind of the band NEPTUNE turned the big 4-O on June 4th. The backyard BBQ was great fun. I knew I was at the right spot when I saw the front yard of house had a heap of bicycles. Neptune is tip top of my list of my favorite experimental rock bands of all time. I first saw them back in 1998 when my Orgy Of Noise & Kings Of Feedback bands appeared the UNDERBELLY CD and they played the CD compilation release show. Somewhat recently Neptune member Dan Boucher moved away to Arizona and they had to get TWO people to replace his awesomeness. They actually grabbed their longtime engineer/co-producer Kevin Micka and the band's close pal Farhad Ebrahimi, who were already part of the Neptune family. They all have been building new instruments and electronics and getting ready for their return show debut of the new line-up at Great Scott club here in Allston this August. Since seeing them in 1998, I have shot tons of photos/videos of NEPTUNE and at some point I MIGHT even do a BTM REMIX of NEPTUNE... if they ever get me the master audio trax.

Hung out for the first part of Jason's birthday party (from 7:30pm - 9:45pm - but didn't snap any photos) and then off to AXEMUNKEE who were playing a nearby club...

Cathy Capozzi's birthday was actually June 3rd and this was officially a DUAL GEMINI BIRTHDAY BASH since a member of the other band was also having a b-day. If you have been following my adventures, you know that I have remixed and did live & studio guest electro tennis racquet gtr bits with Axemunkee (and remixes for her earlier band AQM)... AND Axemunkee members have joined in with my ORGY OF NOISE as well, most notably at the MULTIMEDIA CIRCUS show which just happened to be produced by Deftly-D, so there's a ton of crossover between us all.

Bounced in and out just for Axemunkee's set (from 10:15pm -11.15pm) and the headed out to ORDNANCE III gig, which was at a new spot in Everett. Bit of zig-zaging and made it there just before midnight to catch the finale sets and hang with the crew.

DJ Deftly-D was the host and he (and a lot of his crew) have been involved in several ORGY OF NOISE gig/sessions, most notably the TRICKS & TREATS TTs show and Voidstar Productions's Mulitmedia Circus. ORDNANCE is DJs, VJs, Drummers and more. DEFTLY-D RULES.

see more ORDNANCE photos !

SO just like clockwork, somehow managed to experience ALL THREE HAPPENINGS and SURVIVE.

* AND AND AND... now on JUNE 8th Robyn Hitchcock is returning to the Coolidge Theatre for a full solo set.

*UPDATE: Back from the ROBYN show... he spilled his gray matter with his usual eccentric charm and wit whilst plucking away masterfully on his strings of steel resnonating over wood. At first glance his lyrical riddles appear to be delusional stream of sub-conscious babble, but somehow I was able to connect the dots and find the punch line and the melodies. Bravo.

Later this week, I am thinking of making it out to the MIT FLEA on JUNE 20th and then definitely going to RINGO IN CONCERT on JUNE 29th.... but for me and my normal pace, I am actually still taking it a bit slow on outside of the studio fun for the month of JUNE, relatively speaking anyway.

BORN ON MAY 4th.... You Say It's YOUR BIRTHDAY, Well It's MY BIRTHDAY TOO....

BTM's 1st Birthday May 4th, 1957. Born to rock in 1956 when Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel was #1 in usa charts.
That's my two grandfathers & my mom in a photo snapped by my dad.

BTM's 2nd Birthday on May 4, 1958. Scored my first red TOY PIANO and continued feeding my now growing SUGAR ADDICTION. Images are from video screen grabs from a 8MM FILM shot by my parents.

Here's my TAURUS HOROSCOPE for May 4, 2010... It's one of those days when everything seems to be going along smoothly for you -- your reflexes and instincts are all serving you well! Make sure that you spend some quality time with someone you love.

Who else did I miss? WERE YOU BORN ON MAY 4th????
Are YOU a TAURUS? April 20 - MAY 20 - BULLS RULE.

MAY 4th - FOUR DEAD IN OHIO at KENT STATE (1970)

HOW MANY MORE ?

I remember that I turned 14 that day and it was my last actual full-on sorta birthday party. I was in the 9th grade and had only invited my two best gal pals who were in the 10th grade to the party.... and of course my MOM and DAD and two younger brothers were part the early part of the birthday. At some point the news came down that day and later that evening I remember getting the new-ish to me John Mayall Empty Rooms album as a present and spinning his song "Plan Your Revolution" as flags and tokes were burning. Bittersweet day... definitely the end of my youth. Although it seemed futile, I remember only a few of us wore the black arm bands as protest and respect that week at high school, but most were and still are clueless.

Having been raised on rock lyrics since I was eight had fragments of truth and by my twelfth birthday in 1968 I was already starting to be clear on the lies and crimes of the government and the old grey haired thugs that run it. I had read Abbie Hoffman's "Revolution For the Hell of It (1968) book and had just scored Jerry Rubin's Do It (1970) book and was fully aware of the Yippies and SDS and Weathermen etc, but that Ohio massacre just hit me a bit heavier, decades later it still reminds me that we are still being lied to.

A preview of the work in progress...
the best way to get your music into a film,
is to compose the music AND direct the film yourself.

The soundtrack is a melting of BTM's bands...
DRUM ARMY into an ORGY OF NOISE morphed into a new realm.

...all of the plans for this short film are in an embryonic flux of fragments of non-plot via a mental storyboard being decrypted here at the laboratory that seems give way to an abstract visual smorgasbord of close-ups of assorted vibrations melting into the vortex via ear drum stimulations.

BTM Guest Squelching with the Laundry Room Squelchers & Rat Bastard @ International Noise Conference 2010 @ MIT on April 22nd.

RAT BASTARD on Squelch Strat

The one and only Rat Bastard of Laundry Room Squelchers (from Florida) tours from town to town with different local people curating each of the shows. Rat takes an entourage of hot noise babes and one or two acts with him for the tour and plays last after an almost non-stop barrage of a dozen or so local artists.

Killer line-up. Each act did sets of 15 minutes or less. The tongue in cheek rule is... NO DRONING! NO LAPTOPS! NO MIXERS!

I played the INC 2008 Boston/Cambridge show and was invited to play an Orgy Of Noise set at INC 2010 by curator Nathan Trites, but since I am still in studio hermit mode I decided not to play this one. My plan was to just go to the show as spectator fan. I didn't even bring any of my cameras since the post production of shooting pics eats up so much time.

Bill T Miller on RADIO SQUELCH AMP

When I arrived RAT immediately asks me if I was playing under another name, since he didn't see Orgy Of Noise on the line-up. Once I told him I wasn't on the bill he insists "Well then, YOU'RE PLAYING with THE SQUELCHERS, we are down one man anyway." So he shows me one of three Peavey guitar amps that had been modified to have an AM/FM RADIO jacked in for uber SQUELCH all on wheels and long extension cords for a roller derby, bumper car, mosh pit, quad, freak-out sorta effect, while Rat wails away on his strat.

Squelchers' PEAVEYS CABS with AM/FM RADIO & WHEELS.

FUN at MIT FLEA Swap Meet - 04.18.10

cool rainy day at the flea = all sellers in the parking garage !

I wanted THIS BOX of KNOBS for my ZONKULATOR RIG
...but $250.00 = no dice.

ACTUALLY BROKE DOWN an BOUGHT TWO THINGS in HARD COLD CASH... Walter Carlos - Switched on Bach LP in fair condition = .50 cent. My Dad turned me on to this album when it came out in 1969, igniting my lust for MOOG SYNTHS. Shortly after that he brought home a SINE WAVE GENERATOR OSCILLATOR from his chemistry lab for me to tweak.

+ VGA to VGA cable = $1 - just what I needed for free dual input CRT computer monitor I just scored for FREE on Craigslist. Oh wait, it cost four bux (with dollar off flyer)to get in, so total cash spent = $5.50... and well worth it.

I ran into a ton of people at the FLEA including Jessica Rylan & Nathan Trites (flower electronics wizards) - Monte McGuire (soundman to the stars) - Larry Dersch (best drummer and dude around) - Fred Owsley (from Noise Night bending workshops) - Mike and Linda Bullock (master improvers) - Max Lord (buchla synth & percussion ninja) - Andy Ihnatko (photographer who shoots amazing mit flea pix) and met a dude who saw me and Orgy Of Noise at Multimedia Circus gig in 2009... plus nodded at Zerfalt & Asha and even caught a glimpse Adam Rosen (my fave Mac Guru of Vintage Mac Museum.) If you dig around my BTM PHOTOGRAPHY SITE you will find pix I have snapped over the years of most of these people.

Hope to make it to the next FLEA in MAY... might even grab a table and bring a pile of stuff to the party.
