HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET - A Tourist in Baltimore

MUST SEE TV. In my real life I have never been a fan of cops, killers, politicians, doctors, preachers, jocks, drug addicts, drunkards, soldiers, angst ridden teens and most of what is on tv shows.... but Homicide simply had great characters.

The day after the RUSH Time Machine concert in Baltimore this past weekend we went down to Fells Point and snapped some photos of the building & pier area where they shot the TV show Homicide: Life on the Street back in the 90s.

Scored this SUPER 8 FILM CAMERA @ MIT FLEA

Yashica Super 8 SU 60-E
Spotted this camera at the MIT FLEA and it was super cheap with a cool retro case, so I "popped" on it. Of course now sorting out film stock and processing opens up another can of worms.


For now I guess I will shoot a couple of test rolls of super 8 film (B&W and Colour) with the Yashica and just keep shooting with my Circuit Bent PXL2000 Camera that was bent by WATERHEAD. At some point I will get the time and funds to get into shooting Super 8 again. I still have piles of Super 8 films that my parents shot of our adventures in the 60s to edit into my assorted BTM TV (Orgy Of Noise, Racquet Band, The Electric Onion, OBE etc) videos.

Scored my very first records X-MAS 1964...
I still have that original Beatles '65 album.
Then my world centered around getting more records or guitars...
My Dad had a super deluxe hi-fi stereo system with custom turntable, Tandberg reel-to-reel tape recorder, separate Scott tube pre-amp and a Fisher amp and 15-inch EV woofers and Wharfedale tweeters and even a center channel 10-inch EV speaker.... but this was MY first record player.

...but by 1966 I no longer wanted more records only by other people, I wanted to MAKE MY OWN RECORDS!!!

Now I have more records than I will ever have time to listen to in this lifetime.... and I have MADE more than YOU will find the time to listen to in YOUR lifetime.... but I still want even MORE!

Although I have engineered, produced, remixed or played on piles of music that was released on vinyl over the last few decades, my favorite slab of wax is my own LP released in 1990 and my label's first release the OBE FLEXI-DISC. In fact, I loved them so much that I bought a thousand of each. Real truth is they are pretty scarce and you prob can't find either of them in an actual "record store" anymore.
